Kathy Huff

Master Roaster and owner of Sommo Coffees, Kathy Huff, has been roasting for five years and was personally trained by Stephan Diedrich, CEO of Diedrich Manufacturing, and one of the founders of the Specialty Coffee Industry in the US.

Kathy is a professional coffee cupper (someone who expertly tastes coffee).  She works with top chefs in the Norther Virginia area pairing coffee with desserts and creating custom blends.  She also trains Baristas for competition.

Sherri Johns

Renowned Coffee Cupper, Sherri Johns,  chooses Sommo’s  fresh, delicious, top quality beans from hundreds of samples from around the world.   Sherri holds a position only five people in the world enjoy: Head Judge for the esteemed Cup of Excellence Program, the top award for coffee in the Specialty Coffee Industry.

In addition to traveling the globe judging coffees, Sherri is a celebrated chef and has taught coffee at Le Cordon Bleu in Sough America.  She is often seen on the Food Network, where she is host and head judge of the Ultimate Barista Challenge.
